ZEPHANIAH

Zephaniah: translation

(fl. 7th cent BCE)
Judean prophet. He was a member of a noble Judean family, and his prophecies were uttered during the early part of Josiah's reign. He described the Day of the Lord, when the wicked will be punished, the poor will inherit the land, and the Lord will be universally acknowledged.
