YAHUDA, ABRAHAM SHALOM

(1877-1951)
Palestinian orientalist. He was born in Jerusalem. He taught at the Hochschule fur die Wissenschaft des Judentums, in Berlin, and at the University of Madrid. In 1942 he became professor at the New School for Social Research in New York. He published biblical and philological studies, attempted to establish correspondences between Egyptian texts and the Pentateuch, and edited the Arabic text of Bahya ibn Pakuda'sDuties of the Heart.
