VOLTERRA, MESHULLAM (MESHULLAM BEN MENAHEM OF VOLTERRA)

Italian financier. He inherited his father's loan bank in Florence. In 1481 he travelled to Palestine; after a month's stay he returned to Florence via Venice. HisMassa Meshullam mi-Volterra be-Eretz Yisraelisan account of his voyage.
