VISSER, LODEWIJK ERNST

(1871-1942)
Dutch jurist. Born in Amsersfoort. He studied law and became general prosecutor in Amsterdam and later judge of the district court. In 1915 he became judge of the high court of Holland and in 1939 president of the high court. When the Germans invaded Holland in 1940 he appeared in the high court in his full dress and opened the session with a speech in which he attacked the invasion.
