PAPPUS AND JULIANUS

Judean patriots. They were brothers. According to rabbinic legend, they set up banks to assist wayfarers in Jerusalem. They were probably the leaders of the Jewish revolt against Trajan (115-17), since they were captured by the Romans at Laodicea in Syria and executed.
