IBN AKNIN, JOSEPH BEN JUDAH

North African philosopher and poet. He was born in Barcelona and moved to North Africa, where he lived as a crypto-Jew. He wrote studies of Jewish law and philosophy. He should not be confused withMaimonides'disciple Joseph ben Judah ibn Shimon who is also referred to as Ibn Aknin.
