GERCHUNOFF, ALBERTO

(1884-1950)
Argentine journalist and writer. He was born in Russia and was taken to Argentina as a child. In 1908 he joined the staff of the dailyLa nationwith which he was associated for over 40 years. HisThe Jewish Gauchos of the Pampascontains a collection of articles describing the life of Jewish colonists in Entre Rios at the beginning of the 20th century. Following the rise of Hitler, he became an ardent Zionist.
