EISENSTEIN, IRA

(1906-2001)
American rabbi. He was born in New York. He led the Society for the Advancement of Judaism and subsequently served as rabbi to Anshe Emet synagogue in Chicago. Later he became president of the Reconstructionist Foundation and editor of theReconstructionist. In 1968 he was appointed president of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
