Ehud: translation

(fl. 12th cent BCE)
Judge of the tribe ofBenjamin. He delivered Israel from Eglon, King of Moab. Under the pretext of having a secret message for the king, he drew a dagger and killed him. This ended Moabite rule over Israel for several genera-tions (Judges 3).
