AGRON (AGRONSKY), GERSHON

(1894-1959)
Jerusalem editor and mayor, of Ukrainian orign. His family went to the US when he was 13. He settled in Palestine during World War I. In 1932 he became the founder and editor of thePalestine Post. In 1949 he organized and directed the Israel Government Information Services, and later became mayor of Jerusalem.
