Also known assmell illusion. The term olfactory illusion is indebted to the Latin verbol(e)facere, which means to smell. It refers to an aberrant olfactory sensation experienced in the presence of an actual odour. The group of olfactory illusions comprises *dysosmia, *hyperosmia, and * parosmia. The olfactory illusion is commonly classified as a *chemosensory disorder.
