HALLUCINATORY POLYOPIA

The term hallucinatory polyopia is indebted to the Greek wordspolus(much, many) andopsis(seeing). It was introduced in or shortly before 1928 by the German-American biological psychologist and philosopher Heinrich Klüver (1897-1979) to designate a type of *polyopia characterized by the perception of multiple identical hallucinatory images. Klüver uses the term hallucinatory polyopia in opposition to *'objective' polyopia and *imaginal polyopia.
