AGATHOSMA

agathosma: translation

The term agathosma comes from the Greek wordsagathos(good) andosmè(smell, stink, fragrant, odour, scent, perfume). It translates loosely as 'good smell'. The term agathosma is used to denote an illusory or hallucinatory olfactory percept that presents itself in the form of a pleasant odour such as the scent of flowers, perfume, or honey. The term agathosma is used in opposition to the term * cacosmia ('bad smell').
