ÉCHO DE LA PENSÉE

écho de la pensée: translation

The French termécho de la penséetranslates into English as audible thinking, thought-echo, thought echoing, or thoughts-out-loud, and into German as *Gedankenlautwerden. The introduction of the termécho de la penséehas been attributed to the French psychiatrist Gaëtan Georges Gatian de Clérambault (1852-1934). However, as noted by the French psychiatrist Charles Durand, prior to de Clérambault the term was used as early as 1892 by the French psychiatrist Louis Jules Ernest Séglas (1856-1939), while even the latter may not have been its inventor.
