MAXILLULA

maxillula: translation

The second mouthpart and fifth cephalic appendage. In the Janiroidea, it consists of two setose lobes: a large outer lobe armed with robust, tooth-like setae; and a smaller inner lobe with only one setae. (Pl.maxillulae) (Syn. maxillule, first maxilla) [Wilson, 1989].
