BODY RING

body ring: translation

Combined tergite and sternite of single somite, bearing legs or legless (as used by some specialists on Notostraca, not equivalent to somite) [Moore and McCormick, 1969].
(Order Notostraca):
One in a series of divisions of thorax and abdomen. Posterior body rings may bear more than one pair of appendages each and are therefore considered to consist of several fused segments. May be modified to form half rings or spiral rings. (with leg, apodous). (Syn. ring) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
