earnest-appearing young actor of the 1950s and early '60s; he was the cousin of Angélica María (and nephew of producer Angélica Ortiz). Received a Best Juvenile Performer Ariel nomination forMaldita ciudad(1954). Ortiz was given several leading roles - cfGuantes de oro- but his career never really took off.
