pudgy-faced character actor who got his start in radionovelas of the 1950s and 1960s. Benavides repeated his radio and TV role from the series "Chucho el Roto" in four films for Alfredo Zacarías in '69, his film debut. He continued to work in TV, films, and stage plays into the '90s.
