Ancient Egypt

ZAWIYET ELARYAN

Modern name for a site south of Giza where two unfinished pyramids are located. The older structure probably belongs to Khaba of Dynasty 3 and the other to Dynasty 4. There are also graves dating to the Early Dynastic Period, New Kingdom, and Roman Period. The site was excavated by the Egyptian Antiquities Service in 1903 and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts from 1910–1911.
