YAQUBHER

Throne nameMeruserre. Ruler during the Second Intermediate Period attested on scarabs. He is probably one of the Hyksos chieftains, but it is unclear whether he belongs to Dynasty 15 or is simply a minor ruler of Dynasty 14. His name is similar to the Biblical patriarch Jacob whose sojourn in Egypt might derive from an account of this king.
