KHNUMHOTEP II

(fl. 1910–1874 BC)
Nomarch of the 16th Upper Egyptian nome and governor of the Eastern Desert. Son of Nehri and Baqet, daughter of Khnumhotep I. He was a contemporary of Amenemhat II and Senusret II. He maintained the family’s power in Middle Egypt. His tomb, which depicts a famous scene of the arrival of Asiatic nomads, with biographical texts is located at Beni Hasan.
