Ancient Egypt

KHAYAN

(reigned c. 1600 BC)
Throne nameSewoserenre. Hyksos ruler of Dynasty 15. Monuments of his have been found in Crete and Baghdad, but it is uncertain when they were removed from Egypt. The discovery of Cretan frescoes at his capital, Avaris, strengthens the idea of direct relations between Crete and Egypt at the time. A stela names his eldest son and presumed successor, Iannas.
