Ancient Egypt

HARNEDJITEF

(reigned c. 1770 BC)
Throne nameHetepibre. Ruler at the beginning of Dynasty 13. Possibly son of a previous ruler, Ameny Qemau, whose name appears in his cartouche and has been wrongly interpreted as meaning “the Asiatic.” Astatue of Harnedjitef has been found in the Delta near Avaris. A mace with his throne name has been found in the Syrian city of Ebla, indicating that trade and political links with the Levant were still active in this period.
