Ancient Egypt

DOUBLE CROWN

Double crown: translation

Crowns were worn by gods and kings, to whom they conveyed powerful magical properties. As rulers of a united Egypt from 3100 BC, the kings wore the Double Crown which combined the Red Crown (the royal headdress of the Delta or Lower Egypt) with the White Crown of the south (Upper Egypt).
