Bastet: translation

Cat goddess of Bubastis represented as a cat-headed or lioness-headed human figure, often with a sistrum rattle or kittens. The worship of her cult became popular during the Late Period, from which time cemeteries of cats killed as votive offerings to her have been discovered.
